Every marriage has problems and issues. And every couple has their own way of dealing with the troubles that come up in a marriage. Many times, people can work out their matters of contention through talking. But, there are a great many couples who lack the skills to handle problems through talking because they simply do not understand how to speak to each other correctly. These people need help learning how to appropriately talk to their spouses.

If you have trouble talking about problems with your spouse, and if you are wondering “how to save my marriage?” then this article is for you. You will learn some simple suggestions for dealing with issues in your marriage by talking or, rather, by changing how you are talking.

When thinking about saving your marriage, you need to think about some habits of which you may be guilty. Of course, your spouse may have these habits as well. But, if you start working on changing how you speak to your spouse, chances are your spouse will follow suit, changing how he speaks to you. And, once the two of you begin speaking to each other respectfully and appropriately all of the time, your marriage will no longer need saving!

Here are the habits that you may need to change:

Complaining

Are you a big complainer, grumbling about anything and everything? This habit can be quite annoying, even if your spouse is a complainer as well. Complainers tend to look for the negative aspects of life rather than the positive. And, if you are a bellyacher, your spouse may be wondering what type of complaints you have about him. Try to complain only when necessary, such as if a restaurant meal isn’t up to par.

Criticizing

Many people feel comfortable criticizing their spouses because they do not feel threatened. However, your spouse is the last person you should criticize; after all, this is the person who vowed to love and cherish you until death. So, why are you purposely trying to find fault in this person? Or, if not that, why are you pointing out all of his faults?

Nagging

This type of behavior simply never works, it is just annoying. Instead of nagging, try gently suggesting to your spouse that you need something done. Then, if he doesn’t do it, let it go. No, this isn’t ideal in terms of getting things done; however, it does wonders for keeping peace in your marriage. As for the tasks your spouse doesn’t do, either do them yourself or hire some assistance.

Blaming

Do you blame your spouse when something goes wrong, regardless of whether or not it was his fault? This is not helpful at all; in fact, it leads to much frustration and unhappiness on the part of your spouse. Blaming is never helpful. Rather than blaming, try talking to your spouse when something goes wrong and working out how to solve the problem.View Your Product Available For Download Here.http://betterlifeinformation.com/relationships/happy-marriage/

Christian Marriage Counseling – Can Going to Your Church Help You Stop a Divorce?

Monday, September 14th, 2009

Almost all religion considers marriage as a sacred institution. They believe that marriage is the foundation of a family. This helps to build a foundation for the society. Hence emphasis is always given to saving a marriage.

However, there is no guarantee that today’s marriages do not have problems. Due to the current lifestyles and the change in men and women’s roles, children, financial and economic pressures, it is becoming more difficult to make a marriage work. More and more couples are having problems in their marriage.

You ask yourself, who can you ask for help or go to when you are looking for help to stop a divorce?

Ask anyone around and most of them will advise that you visit a marriage counselor or therapist. Personally, I prefer to go to the institution that emphasis on marriage values more than anything or anyone out there – the church and the pastor.

What is the number 1 difference between a licensed counselor and Christian marriage counseling that make me make such statement?

Please do not get me wrong. I have nothing against a licensed marriage therapist or counselor. However, the church and a pastor approach towards helping you save your marriage in a holistic angle. They believe that marriage vows taken are forever. Hence the church will take the approach of bringing couples closer together. Unlike a licensed counselor whose focus will be more an individualistic approach and treatment on an individual psychopathology and couple’s therapy.

What if you do not have a pastor or a church home?

Expect some difficulty if you currently do not have your own pastor or a church home and it usually takes around six months to create rapport in a church. If you are on a mission now to help stop a divorce, it is the luxury of time you do not have.

The best you can do is to contact various churches near you and enquiry if they have programs, events or retreats for couples. Use this event to work on saving your marriage and get connected with a skilled pastor. After that do a follow up counseling with the same pastor.

Like all marriages, communication problem is the biggest issue faced by married couples. If during this event you and your spouse take the opportunity to work and iron out your communication issues, you will be surprise that other pieces of your marriage or relationship will automatically fall into place.

Marriage issues such as children, finances and sex in your marriage will also addressed. Be honest and open to achieve optimal result. You and your spouse might have individual agenda and hope when you first attend. However, the ultimate goal is to get your marriage back on track and hope by the end of the counseling, both you and your spouse will have the same goal towards saving your marriage.

A marriage is not easy and at times can be very tough. It requires you and your spouse to put in the time, effort and commitment to make it work. Sometimes, you may feel that the situation is so bad that you just cannot endure anymore. There are many excuses and reasons to not make the marriage work.

How to Save My Marriage – Things I Did That Made Me Fix My Troubled Marriage and Stop My Divorce!

Friday, September 4th, 2009

I will directly cut to the chase: The method on how to save my marriage that changed how I viewed relationships permanently was that: “endless self sacrifice won’t bring a marriage anywhere”.

I will get to what that means shortly, but I will first talk about the “applications” of that method. Fixing a marriage, according to that method which DID save my marriage; is not always about talking to your spouse and sort out your differences, reach some kind of compromise by sacrificing and then simply getting along easily. No – if your marriage is troubled, that brings you nowhere.

Why? Quick rundown: My husband wanted to divorce, but I wanted so save our marriage. It was crystal clear. Now – what would talking to him to save my marriage mean? It would mean me giving out to him every field that was important to me, and now that he had the upper hand on most of the situations, he would get back to me. Reaching a consensus only works, and is only possible if both sides want the marriage to continue. If one side has made up his or her mind about ending the marriage, then a “consensus” only means the other spouse begging to him or her to save the marriage and stop the divorce. This will not work, and will even make you look pathetic and desperate. And no one wants a desperate spouse.

What SHOULD be done is, playing the marriage (and relationship) game according to its rules. Your spouse will love you more not when you beg to him. He or she will love you when you are inaccessible to him. This means just the exact opposite of begging – and it was a method with those foundations that taught me how to save my marriage, and stopped my divorce.View Your Product Available For Download Here

Awesome Marriage Quotes For You

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Marriage is an institution brought together mainly by love and affection. It is for this reason that couples need to continue feeding on the affection that first brought them together. One way to rekindle great memories and to pave way for new ones is by exploring marriage quotes. They are messages or statements of love and romance that best define the marriage union. Being in love is probably one of the greatest assets that a human being can have. Having the opportunity to share this love in marriage makes life worth living. Marriage quotes will not only inspire you but spark your own creativity as you formulate new philosophies for life and marriage. The following are some of the greatest marriage quotes of all times, written by people smitten by the idea of love and what it does in our lives. Let me start off by a quote which you need to think seriously about for your marriage to prevail through rough times. Mignon McLaughlin’s famous marriage quote is that ‘A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person’. This is very much the case or should be the case.

You will find that there are so called dry spells in marriage. This is where you explore your heart and find that you do not feel any love for your partner. To remedy this, you need to fall back in love so that your marriage can stand. Falling in love in this case will be a deliberate move. All you have to do is go back in time and see the potential you have to love each other. People who have been married for many years successfully will tell you only too well that, you have to keep awakening the love that was once felt. Moving on, there is another marriage quote that really speaks to the heart. It is a quote by Pauline Thomason and it goes like this ‘Love is blind and marriage is an eye opener’. This is a very interesting quote which is rather comical. It describes the reality of marriage. Most people who have gotten married did not expect marriage to be so. You can take the quote positively or negatively.

Marriage is a learning institution and, many will learn what it takes to make a marriage as they progress to various levels. Some quotes will evoke laughter and leave you very entertained. For example, a quote by Zsa Zsa Gabor which goes like this ‘A man is incomplete until he is married, after that he is finished’. There is no need for further explanation, it is light and you can take it to mean various things. You can come up with your very own marriage quotes, you know what they say; no one has monopoly of creativity. I came up with my very own quote which goes like this ‘Marriage is a race, if you want to win, start running’. Quotes will show various attitudes and emotions that people have towards marriage. At the end of the day, you will know what to do to make your union better.View Your Product Available For Download Here

It almost hurts to see a marriage going bad, especially when it ends up in divorce. Even without counseling, there a lot of things you can do to save a marriage. Both partners must be committed to the goal, though. Below are some things you have to follow if you want to “save my marriage.”

Before you even start, you should know there is no such thing as a perfect marriage. Put two people together for so long and after awhile there’s going to be problems, some which could result in divorce. Twins even have different likes and dislikes. You have to get through the tough times together if you want your marriage to work. The marriage will never live up to your expectations and will end up destroying everything. It is possible to “save my marriage” if you and your partner work together and overcome your problems. All people make mistakes.

If you don’t have good communication in your marriage, you can bet there will be problems. The most important thing in a relationship is honesty. If you can’t trust the person you are spending the rest of your life with, then who can you trust? Third, you have to be able to make compromises with your partner. You both have to come to a middle ground if you want to “save my marriage.”

A marriage is all about commitment. If your car breaks down on the side of the road, you don’t just leave it there and walk away. You have to treat your marriage the same way. Try out all your options before you just give up. You have to have commitment if you want to “save my marriage.”

Sometimes the marriage is just too damaged to be saved. Some things just can’t be solved, even with counseling. This is when a divorce might actually be a good idea. Besides this, almost all marriages can be saved. You and your partner just have to have a commitment to work together and hopefully you will be able to say you can “save my marriage.”View Your Product AVailable For Download Here..

Some of the Greatest Marriage Traditions

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

The institution of marriage continues to evolve. For this reason marriage traditions have continued to change with time. The old traditions have been dramatically changed by the onset of modernization. The first marriage ever recorded was between Adam and Eve. Their union was the idea of God and he oversaw it. For this reason, a lot if importance has been placed on marriage until today. However low that people may think of marriage, they still recognize it as a holy institution which needs commitment and dedication. In the primitive ages, the most common marriage tradition was to steal a bride from a particular tribe during warfare. This must have been a very adventurous way to start a life long commitment. As people civilized, brides were no longer stolen but rather were contracted. This means that brides were given out after a certain agreement by the parents and the people marrying. This constituted an arranged marriage and sometimes a forced marriage. As time went on, this paved way to dowry. It was demanded by parents for raising the bride. It later evolved and today, it is viewed as a token of appreciation which is given to the parents of the bride.

Marriage traditions are determined by certain factors which include religion and culture. Different cultures of the world have their very own marriage traditions. For example in India, dowry was paid to the family of the groom and not the bride. This tradition is very much rooted and there are many reasons for this. Across all cultures, people recognize or put a lot of emphasis on marriage. It is a societal event which is marked in color and fun fare. According to practiced traditions, marriage was prepared months prior to the date. This was mainly to make sure that everything went fine. In today’s modern world, planning a marriage can be done faster due to the many resources available to us. Many people hold private weddings where they just invite close family members. Therefore, the communal wedding tradition has been seen to be fading away. During marriage, a groom usually has a best man. This tradition was inspired by the primitive practices in regard to marriage. When a girl was stolen to become a bride, the warrior had a partner who would watch over his back.

This was where the idea of best man came from. It later inspired the idea of a best maid. Going back to marriage traditions can prove to be very exciting. Marriage traditions in Africa were very different from those in Asia. It is this diversity that has made the topic quite something. Weddings and marriage still remain something special; something worth celebrating. If you are holding your wedding, it will not hurt to go back in history and, find out some of the traditions of your people. Adding one or two things will ensure that you keep alive some of the most interesting traditions ever crafted. It is all about making marriage interesting and upholding its glory.View Your Product AVailable For Download Here..http://www.betterlifeinformation.com/relationships/happy-marriage/

Christian Marriage Advice – The Myth About Submission

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

Imagine that you are in a tumultuous and problematic relationship. Imagine what each day would feel like knowing that your spouse would perhaps ignore you or start an argument with you.

Put yourself in this position and think about how your marriage would continue on like this if something wasn’t done to restore the relationship to a healthy one. Now imagine if you can, searching for advice and being told not to complain about your situation.

Then you are told to submit to your spouse and allow them to run the marriage however they please. It may sound like a bizarre method, but this is what has been taught to couples over the past fifty years. Certainly this grin-and-bear-it attitude has not saved marriages, but diluted them further, forcing both partners apart.

Telling a woman to be submissive to her husband and to praise him regardless of his actions is the type of traditional marriage advice that has harmed so many marriages before. My wife and I are trying to teach people the opposite of that. We want women to have a voice, to confront their husbands when they are unhappy.

What if a coworker of yours was bothering you in some way? Maybe they don’t do their share of work, or maybe they seem spiteful and difficult to be around.

Would you talk to this coworker and try to resolve the problem, or would you decide to let the coworker continue on with their behavior and hope that your willingness to submit would please them enough to reverse their actions? Of course you would talk to them and try to work through the conflict.

I think that you might agree with me when I say that marriage deserves even more effort than a relationship with a coworker. If communication is paramount in marriage, then why would anybody advise cutting off communication and blindly accepting every flaw in your partner?

That wouldn’t be a step towards improving a marriage, it would be ten steps away from each other.

Through nontraditional Christian marriage coaching we want to teach husbands and wives how to work together and understand one another. Most marriage advice books and ministries were geared toward women, telling them to constantly submit to their husbands.

And men were never taught how to understand and speak with their wives at all. I strongly believe that knowledge brings the healing. And I feel that most men just need to learn how to be the husband that their wife needs.

Now imagine yourself in a relationship that is healthy because of the communication between partners. We believe in a type of teaching that makes both spouses take responsibility for their actions as well as for their marriage.

When both partners are taught to communicate with each other properly they can achieve harmony within their marriage.View Your Product AVailable For Download Here..http://blog.betterlifeinformation.com/relationship-happiness/christian-marriage-advice-myth-submission/

You have sex every now and then, it’s not as mind-blowing and as regular as it used to be but it’s satisfying enough. You’re not complaining and you’re certain your spouse is cool with everything. You believe that if you put a lot of effort in your relationship, pressure and high expectations will grow between the two of you.

Making what use to be a peaceful and easy companionship highly demanding and stressful. Your theories may be right but I don’t totally agree. If your union is heading to “boredomeville”, it’s time to do something about it before your relationship becomes non-existent. I don’t mean that you have to exhaust yourself emotionally, mentally and physically to have that “high school love affair” feeling back or that five-hour-sex marathon you used to do. I believe that to prevent the spark of enthusiasm from dying, healthy marriage is required. To have a maintainable happy relationship you have to exert yourselves to have a healthy marriage.

A healthy marriage is all about looking after your spouse and giving quality time for each other. You can never achieve happiness in your relationship if it’s bothered by the distrust or inattention disease. To have a successfully healthy marriage, here are some few suggestions. Nurture intimacy, I don’t have to mean that you have to have sex every night. Sex is just another component of intimacy. Intimacy is having good communication and paying attention and being considerate to your spouse. Intimacy is about togetherness and tenderness. Saying “I love you” everyday, saying “thank you” and “you’re welcome”, saying “sorry”, kissing and hugging each other goodbye, goodnight or welcoming each other from work are forms of intimacy.

Fixing your husband’s tie, helping your wife dress up, saying something nice to each other, holding each other’s hands, or just hanging around and be alone together, these are small acts of intimacies but this can have a deep impact in your relationship. Incorporating little acts of intimacies in your daily lives give you a healthy marriage. Another way to have a successfully healthy marriage is to have sense of humor. Married life is tough, with all the stress and problems it’s important not to lose your sense oh humor. There are tribulations in your relationship that are very hard to handle or cope, instead of letting it take the best of you or taking it out on each other, why not try laughing it out? Find humor in adversity.

It’s eases up the mind and it’s good for the soul. Lastly, to have a healthy marriage, never lose respect of each other. With respect there’s love, acceptance, compromise, and forgiveness. Loving your partner without expecting anything in return is respect. Accepting your partner as he or she is the essence of respect and knowing the fact that your spouse can commit errors, you forgive, is respect. In other words, treat your partner the way you want to be treated and you will attain a blissfully meaningful union. Obtaining healthy marriage is having contentment and happiness in your marriage. Successfully healthy marriage, it’s possible.View Your Product AVailable For Download Here..http://www.betterlifeinformation.com/women/time-management-tips/
